ZooTunes is a key fundraising event for Woodland Park Zoo with proceeds going to support the zoo’s exemplary animal care, both local and global conservation programs and critically important education programs.

The City of Seattle continues to own the zoo’s grounds, buildings and exhibits.
Can I bring my own food to Woodland Park Zoo?
Yes, like a daytime visit to the zoo, visitors are permitted to bring their own food to WildLanterns. You will be required to be in our designated eating/drinking areas when consuming the food and beverage though. Outside alcohol is prohibited.
Does Woodland Park zoo serve beer?

Can you bring your dog to the Woodland Park zoo?

Why did Woodland Park Zoo get rid of the elephants?
Elephants from Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo were moved to the Oklahoma City Zoo in 2015 after a bruising political and court fight. Activists had wanted the elephants transferred to a sanctuary in California. In October, a 4-year-old elephant at the Oklahoma City Zoo died of a herpes virus.
Can I bring a water bottle to Woodland Park Zoo?

If you don’t own a reusable bottle, you can find a range of sizes and options available for purchase at our ZooStores.
How long does it take to go through Woodland Park Zoo?
Visiting this amazing zoo is an adventure. You can easily spend a full day. However, if you don’t have that much time, you will need at least 3-4 hours.

Does Woodland Park Zoo have elephants 2021?
Woodland Park Zoo has announced it will phase out its elephant program by moving its two remaining females to a larger herd. The news comes after the death in August of its only remaining African elephant, Watoto. Two Asian elephants remain on display in Seattle: 35-year-old Chai and 47-year-old Bamboo.

Woodland Park Zoo’s three gray wolves are ten-year-old sisters Doba, Shila and Kaya. They were born on April 27, 2010 at New York State Zoo and moved to WPZ in September 2010. While tricky to tell apart, each of them has unique personalities and behaviors.
